These 10 adorable Guide Dog puppies need loving homes in Nuneaton

Adorable pups need a loving new home in Nuneaton so they can begin their journey to becoming fully fledged guide dogs.

Guide Dogs charity bosses say they need at least 10 volunteer “puppy raisers” from around town to provide loving homes for guide dog pups.

Puppy raisers play an important role in the early socialization and training of guide dogs for the blind by teaching them basic commands and helping them get used to the outside world.

At around seven weeks of age, the pups move in with their volunteer puppy raisers, where they stay until they are around 12-16 months old.

The puppies then go to a training center to begin their special training.

Claire Purr, Guide Dog Puppy Development Advisor for Nuneaton, said, “This is a great opportunity for the people of Nuneaton to raise a guide dog puppy and prepare a puppy for their future role of assisting someone with vision loss.

“It’s long term volunteering as each puppy will live with you for at least a year.

“We provide all of the training and support you need to make you feel well equipped to look after your pup as he grows and develops.

“If you are from Nuneaton and think you can give a guide dog puppy a loving, temporary home, please contact us.”
