Texas Puppies Arrive at Cambria County Humane Society

The Cambria County Humane Society has some new, special Texas residents. There are always cats and dogs available for adoption, but it is rare for puppies to exist. Now the shelter has over a dozen and it has been a long way to get here.

A little shy and insecure, but cute nonetheless, these pups have just made the trip to the Cambria County Humane Society. Executive Director Jessica Vamos said, “These pups were from the state of Texas. We have a total of 14 puppies, 8 of them Sheppard mixed breed puppies and six of them a catch-all mixed breed puppy. “

The pups were picked up by Freedom Rides of Texas, which aims to end the overpopulation of cats and dogs. Vamos says potential adopters are always calling for puppies, adding, “Knowing that we can comply with this request from our adoptive parents and save the lives of the puppies that are in a high mortality condition, we really have this opportunity seen and are really curious how it all goes and I hope that I can repeat it in the future. “

Vamos says the pups will find a home quickly but hopes this will encourage people to look around the rest of the shelter. And if you can’t adopt one of these puppies, the shelter hopes you will consider donating. Vamos says: “Taking care of 14 puppies is a really big job. It will add a lot of work here at the shelter. “

These donations will help the shelter provide the pups with the medical care they need now after their trip from Texas.
