NEW YORK (NEWS10) – Governor Kathy Hochul announced Tuesday that applications for the next entrance exam for New York State Police Trooper are now being accepted. The exam, which will run from January to April 2022, will be conducted online for the first time in State Police history at authorized testing centers, in an effort to make the exam reportedly more accessible to the general public.
“New York State Police’s proud civil service tradition goes back more than a century and we are opening applications to join one of the elite law enforcement agencies in the country,” said Governor Hochul. “It is vital that our soldiers reflect who we are as a state, and so we reach out to all communities to find the future leaders of the state police. We encourage anyone who wants to make a difference to start a career as a New York State Trooper. “
